Loosing weight the fun way part 2

A few tips on eating habits.

I only know of 4 reasons someone chooses to eat.

1. They are hungry and are in need of sustenance. When you are hungry it is tough to make decisions about what to eat. When hungry the body is in a state of shock and needed calories immediately. When you are really hungry try to deal with the hunger before choosing a meal. Have some nuts or a little snack to ward off the panic. Just a little nibble, then choose the meal. Small portions, you can always get more.

2. You are bored. You are looking for something to do. The snack food industry relies upon this. Watching a movie is fun, watching a movie with a bag of chips or chocolate or whatever,  is heaven. If you are bored then you need to look at a whole host of reasons why and take it as an indication of your innerself trying to communicate with you. Boredom eating is the money making gold mine to the snack food industry. This is the most important habit to curb and control.

3. Emotional eating. Feeling like shit? Not a good day, week, year? Whatever your reason, you are feeding yourself as medicine. You need to feel loved and nothing says loving like a lot of pizza, or a whole bunch of fries or a cake. I believe that when you feel this need to emotionally eat, do it! Get right into it! Go all in!!!! Dont just go to the corner store and by a twinkie. Treat yourself to a slice of the best pie or cake you can get. Get the best chocolate. Go to the best fry joint. Top notch. Treat yourself right. Dont hide it. Embrace it. I believe that a really great burger will sade your depression more then 15 crappy big macs.

4. Maintenance. The most important part of eating. This is meal planning. Eating for the day ahead. Making sure you have snacks with you when you leave the house. Drinking water a plenty, nuts, fruits, dark chocolate, lunch, a treat or two. Planning a nice simple dinner. Making sure you have the ingredients. Putting medicine in your body and planning for it.

Learn, or re-learn how to eat. What culture has taught most of us is not eating. It is controlling us by addicting us to chemicals. Food is medicine. Chemicals are not.

Loosing weight the fun way

I have fluctuated my weight many times over my life. I have been up to 230 pounds and down to 170 pounds. My metabolism has changed, slowed right down. I used to be able to eat almost anything and stay they same weight.

I really do not care what I weigh. It is more about how I feel. When I am heavier, I am slower and less flexible and my sleep is affected. When I am skinny I get low blood sugar, lower energy and I really do not feel better.

What I am trying to do is let my body decide what it wants. Here is how.

I eat healthy meals every day. Smoothies, salads, fish, quinoa, brown rice, veggies, all that good stuff we know about. I add cheeses and oils and flavor as needed to make it pleasant to my pallet.

Here is my trick....

I only eat till I am not hungry. I do not eat till I am full.

I also limit the snacks that I consume in between. They are the real killer. Snacking is a modern invention.  You do not need to snack. Have a cup of tea, drink some water, have a piece of fruit. When you indulge in chips or chocolate do it consciously. Do not eat them as you sit in front of the computer. Have only a bit for the joy and leave the rest for later. Yes they taste great but they are chemically designed to taste great and trick you into eating a lot of them. We are addicted to High Fructose Corn Syrup and to Salty snacks. Be aware that people are trying to hook you on them. Use then as you would alcohol. Occasionally and for a treat, not everyday all the time anywhere you want.

Eat well, have fun with food, dont starve yourself, give your body lots of choices, explore cooking, and of course keep your body moving and grooving.

Weight loss or control is not difficult. Kicking the snacking addiction is really tough, I still have not done it. Also eating till we are full is another major one. Slow down, stop early and eat good, locally grown food.

Remember the most important rule of nutrition is eat as much as possible that is in its original form. Rice, beans, fruits, veggies, leaves, seeds, nuts, grains, and some meats if needed or wanted.

Bon Appetite.

Internet is Fucking Boring

It has come to the point that I declare the internet officially boring!

There is a reason why hundreds of million of people play solitaire on a piece of technology that can calculate the systems needed to understand the complexities of our universes.

All I really see is a whole bunch of people waiting for someone to make a move. Someone to say or do something worth talking about. The net is a gossip queen.

I often wonder if the world was scared to step out and do what their heart calling is calling them to do?

Are you waiting for something? Are you scouring the internet to be inspired? Or are you trying to inspire others?

Or are you using the internet to gain the knowledge and experience needed to attain your heart calling?

Are you creating your world or are you waiting for others to create something for you?

The internet sucks cause not enough people are using it for anything but a big distraction (which is fine in doses) but lets start using it to change our worlds and strengthen our communities.

Laughing at God

After 35 years of extensive research into human behavior I have come to the conclusion that I am being deceived more then half the time by humanity.

Milk is not good for you

The economy is there to keep people rich and keep most poor.

We do nto need bigger TVs or the newest phone for any reason.

Our food is getting less and less safe

Our water is getting less and less safe

Politicians are not telling the truth

The court system is not there to protect the average citizen.

So many lies, so many people trying to deceive you on so many levels in order to control you....

Here is how to fight the lies.

Be honest with every word you have and every action you offer

Build a strong and vibrant community

Be honest with yourself above all else

Do not judge others, focus that energy onto healing your own wounds

Depend on food that is as close to its natural form as possible... anything else is not really food, its a treat

Spend time dancing, singing, laughing with others.

Stretch

Walk

Slow down

Laugh at the ridiculousness of most things

Ans remember when you laugh at God you laugh with God.

Still do not understand...

Picture I read everyday posts on facebook about how we all need to love each other and change this world. We are going to have to fight Monsanto and the Government and corrupt business.  Band together and fight the system. Take back our power. Take back our food. Take back our communities. Take back our health..... on and on and on.

Then I see that what I think is needed. We can no longer depend on the economic system. It is the root of a great deal of our separation.

The money system is what is killing us. Money had no value except what we give it... and we give it so much power. We give it the power to create poverty. We give it the power to empower the evil of this world. We give it the power to come between our best friends, our families, our lovers. We give it the power to kill. We give it the power to make us afraid.

A brilliant, hard working individual, who loves their family, their friends. Who takes care of their community, their health and the health of others can be thrown out of their home, deprived of food and water all because they do not have money.

On the other hand someone who cheats others, poisons millions, steals and bullies their way to the top gets the power to do almost whatever they want.

I'm not sure what to do. I have no idea where to begin, but the economic structure rewards bullies.

You want to get rid of bullying? Get rid of the system that rewards them....

Time to change. Time to find another way of doing this whole thing. NO ONE should have more power then anyone else.

How do you see the economic structure change for the better?

Repress Art? Repress Life!

When the economy struggles the first reaction is to cut art. We encourage our children to pursue a career in business, professional trades or education. "Art is a hobby". We critique the cost of art and joke about how much artists get paid.

Can we do anything more to make art a second class in our culture? I don't want to live in a culture that does not put art in a first class. Art needs to be encouraged, expressed and chosen as a profession. We need artists and lots of them.

In all healthy, vibrant communities art flourishes. In all repressed, broken unsafe societies art is repressed. People are healthier when then practice art. Sustainability is much more vibrant and alive when art is practiced.

Now I am not talking about only painting. Art is whatever way you wish to express yourself. It comes in a myriad of forms, one does not have to choose, they just have to create. Art is freeing your heart to be brave and show what is happening on  the inside.
Art is risk, chance, safety, comfort, anything you want. It is the language of our heart.

Art does not have to be separate from life. It is life. It is an expression of life. If you have a child or know of one that wishes to pursue any art form, encourage them. It is just as viable a career as anything out there.

If you where ever told that art is not a career choice, then let that thought go. It is not true. It is the artists that we need right now. We need lots of them, the dreamers, the thinkers, the creators, the destroyers, the pushers, the trouble makers. Free yourselves now.... we need you!

I have no idea what I am doing.....

I don't know where I am going but I like the view.

I don't know what I am doing but I like the work

I don't know who I am but I love myself anyway

I don't know what the next step is but I keep taking it

I don't know much, but what I do know is that fear will not lead me, not knowing will not stop me, my intuition is always spot on, my heart always has an opinion, my determination will not cease, my passion will not wain, my focus will not break, my love will not

Crazy Time Call for Crazy Action

I am still writing new blogs. I have them posted on my website. Have a look. Here is my most recent.....http://beautifulshadows1.weebly.com/blog.html

It's getting interesting out there aint it?
Seems like every where I turn someone is telling me of a really tough winter they have had. Strange things are happening and at a greater pace. It is getting crazy out there.

Well crazy times call fro crazy actions. How about we take this time to love our neighbors.

Forgive our families.

Let go of our fears

Shift to see the world as a good place.

Let us do something crazy and re-write this crazy dream. Turn it into a place where we can all rebuild together with the purpose of creating a prosperous, sustainable and loving culture.

Let us repaint this picture so that it is beautiful, and something we are all proud of.

Lets surprise ourselves and change the focus of our day from survival and worry to a culture of love and acceptance.
nt it?
